Kevin Cates LAc, MS, CMT, Dipl.O.M, is a National and State board licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. He has a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences and is a Certified Massage Therapist. He holds memberships in CSOMA - California State Oriental Medical Association, and AAAOM -the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
In addition to his practice of Chinese Medicine, Kevin has over 35 years of experience as a practitioner and teacher of the Healing Arts. He combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with Tui Na Medical Massage and various bodywork modalities.
Kevin specializes in Orthopedic / Sports injury and chronic pain relief acupuncture. He has advanced training in Neuro Acupuncture for Stroke recovery/prevention, concussion, Traumatic Brain Inury, and Nervous disorders. He also is certified in treating PTSD and Traumatic injury.
As a life long musician, Kevin also integrates his understanding of sound and subtle energies (when appropriate), to create a multifaceted healing experience. Kevin has been an instructor on the faculty of Diamond Light School of Massage & Healing Arts for over 20 years.
His work is enriched by his study of Yoga, Meditation and Qi-Gong.
Kevin believes that a compassionate heart is the most powerful healing tool and his technical excellence and skill are complimented by his calm, healing presence and the genuine caring he has for his patients.
